Eagles Nest Pastor Howell Longsworth Loses Equipment to Burglars

Around twenty thousand dollars of equipment were stolen from the Eagles Nest International Church on Sunday night. Keyboards, amplifiers and digital and other equipment were looted after a truck was seen packing up the church’s property. Pastor Howell Longsworth told us that no windows or doors were broken and so they are still wondering how the equipment were taken away. He said that they are devastated because the equipment was to be used to stream their church service. Longsworth is appealing to the public for the return of the equipment or report if it is being sold.

“About eight o’clock when we pass the lights were on again. According to the security, they saw the lights were on and we didn’t realize that any of the equipment were missing until the following evening, yesterday evening when we came in for the usual Bible study we saw that the equipment were all missing. We understand from the neighborhood that there was some activity in the evening, earlier on in the evening and that they saw a vehicle loading up some equipment in front of the church. So, the equipment were very expensive. Digital equipment. We were getting ready to broadcast live on streaming, so we were accumulating our equipment. We are missing a digital control panel and several other electronic equipment. We had two very expensive keyboards and amplifiers and other things that would complement that. We were just waiting for some more equipment and cameras so that we could do the live streaming. We are very devastated about the loss because it is about reaching the other people in Belize who wouldn’t come to church but through internet and other services they would hear the word and change. We are doing this interview, because if there is anybody who would have access or have knowledge of it, we are offering a reward.”

Andrea Polanco

“Mister Longsworth, how these burglars get access to these equipment inside the church. Did they break in?”

Howell Longsworth

“Well, that is what the police are now investigating because the doors were left open. Whether they had a key or somebody had come into the church previously, we are not sure. But there was no force break-in; none of that. So, we are concerned about what happened.”

Andrea Polanco

“Are you concerned that it is connected to someone who knows the inside of the church; or a former member or anything of the sort?”

Howell Longsworth

“You know everybody visits the church, but we don’t look on who comes in. We don’t speculate on that, however, it is someone who possibly knew the cost of the equipment and had some reason or other purposes for coming to do that.”

Andrea Polanco

“Talking about the cost; do you have an estimated value of the equipment that you lost?”

Howell Longsworth

“Yes. It is about twenty thousand dollars.”

Longsworth noted that the equipment is not for DJ purposes, but for studio use. If you have any information you are encouraged to call the police or call Pastor Longsworth directly at 607-5527.
