P.M. Says Government Will Not Meet Chamber’s Timeframe on Demands

Dean Barrow

Earlier we told you about the Chamber’s decision to call for a shutdown. At the press conference today, the Prime Minister said they will not meet the Chamber’s timeline, which he called “utterly impractical”. He said that he has given his timeframe which he believes is doable and practical.

Prime Minister Dean Barrow

“The B.C.C.I. has given some deadlines which we are not going to meet. I gave you my own timeline; so the B.C.C.I., I am afraid, if they want to be so irresponsible as to call for a shutdown—because deadlines that they impose that are utterly impractical—then be my guest. No. What we have done is to come up with timeframes that are doable and practical and that is where we stand.”
