B.P.P. Has Thumbs Down for Godwin Hulse as Police Minister

Patrick Rogers

In calling once again for the Government to sign the United Nations Anti-Corruption Convention, B.P.P. Political Leader Patrick Rogers declared that they are not comfortable with former comrade in the cause for political reform, Senator Godwin Hulse, being put in charge of the Police Department. Unless the Government changes its ways, Rogers said, the change is cosmetic:

Patrick Rogers, Party Leader, B.P.P.

“We just don’t want to accept that it wasn’t corruption, because our Prime Minister says: “Oh, I noh tink da corruption; it wasn’t good optics but I don’t see nothing…corruption,” we can’t continue accepting that, because our Prime Minister says he doesn’t see the need to investigate further. Look at Llewellyn Lucas: they want to stop it right at, “Mason killed the man,” when we at the B.P.P. that somebody is more culpable than whoever beheaded that man. (Applause) Now, you think an unelected Godwin Hulse can send his policemen after elected men, to investigate elected members of that Cabinet? It won’t happen. SO no, we do not feel comfortable with Godwin Hulse as Minister of Police, because he didn’t do anything for Ministry of Lands, and he sure as hell didn’t do anything at the Immigration Department, where we still see that our documents, are a free for all, on the world market.”
