Chef Ainslie is Robbed at Gunpoint

Well-known Belize City businessman Chef Ainslie Castro, former co-host of Creative Caribbean Cooking at the Radisson, is the victim of an armed robbery.  Sometime after one o’clock this afternoon, Chef Ainslie, along with his employees and teenage son, was inside the kitchen working when a pair of men entered the premises.  The thieves informed Castro that he was being robbed, before pistol whipping him and relieving him of a significant amount of cash.  The robbers also stole cell phones and jewelry from Castro’s workers.  The incident happened at his home near La Croix Boulevard.  News Five spoke with the popular chef this evening, who told us that he strongly believes that he was robbed by someone who knows the layout of his business.
