Michael Modiri Challenges Amount of Damages Awarded by the Supreme Court

Michael Modiri

Today, attorney for Michael Modiri, Nazira Myles of Chebat and Co., filed a notice of appeal challenging the amount of damages awarded to Modiri in the case against Bradley Paumen.   The appeal was filed before Madam Registrar, Velda Flowers in the Supreme Court. Myles appeared in court as scheduled, but Paumen, the owner of Dark Night and Daylight Adventure Tour, and his attorney Herbert Panton were no-shows.  The matter at hand has to do with a land dispute between Modiri and Paumen and his companies.  In May of this year, Justice Shona Griffith ruled that the claimant, Modiri was to be awarded one hundred and fifty thousand dollars in damages and Modiri is appealing that sentence.  Both sides have until October to put everything in writing so the matter can go before the Court of Appeal.
