NEAB Displeased With Ruling

Lance Lewis

The National Evangelical Association of Belize has been vocal in its objection to the challenge ever since it was filed six years ago.  This morning, outside of the Supreme Court near Battlefield Park, a handful of churchgoers gathered with their placards to denounce the outcome.  NEAB, led by Pastor Lance Lewis, expressed its displeasure with the ruling, as well as the verbosity of the Chief Justice’s pronouncement.

Pastor Lance Lewis, President, NEAB

“It was a long speech that went on and on, but eventually the Chief Justice made his decision, made his ruling that there is now nothing, Section Fifty-three is illegal and that has to be struck out.  So therefore, there can be sex among consenting adults from here on.  It does not mean that they can marry but it means that the road has been opened for more deterioration in the nation.  I think that this ruling will cause the church, those who play church, to fall off, but it will cause those who name the name of Christ to get down on their knees and pray.  We have reached rock bottom, we have had several storms and now the only way forward is to be on our knees and ask God to intervene and I think the people of God will get more serious and our back is against the wall in a sense.  But God has the final word and we will be victorious in the name of Jesus Christ.”

Richard Smith

Pastor Richard Smith, Detractor, UNIBAM Challenge

“This is sad.  A nation.  We had just come from Hurricane Earl where every body was praying, Lord saved us.  God rescued us.  We have no deaths, Mexico has thirty-eight, just to show you that God is showing us everything.  We don’t lose.  Love will win all the time because the love of God compels us to do what is right.  They get [Section] Fifty-three but the nation will suffer as a result of [Section] Fifty-three, changing of [Section] Fifty-three and I just say to them, time will tell.  The God of the universe will bring this nation back to its knees.”

I am not of the gay community but I would like to know where the heck were you bible beaters when the was sexual improprieties with clergy the was brought to light after it was known to be happening through the history of the existence of churches? Where were you peoples?

The government is to afford each citizen equal protection and equal religion! We all pay taxes and so we are all entitles to equal protection.

If we would all protest against those we do not agree with there would be a protest every day for eternity! We do not even agree even with our mothers! No two people on this earth agree with everything about another person. We need to forge ahead in spite of our differences in beliefs!
