William Mason Financed Belmopan Bandits

John Saldivar

William Mason is being charged along with Terence Fernandez, Keron Fernandez, Ernest Castillo and Ashton Vanegas. Mason is being represented by attorney Herbert Panton of Lindo’s Law Firm. The brutal murder and the circumstances of the discovery of the head of Pastor Llewellyn Lucas are sensational enough. But the tragedy has been given wings because Mason is known to be very close to high ranking cabinet ministers. News Five has been able to confirm that at least five ministers including the Minister of Police have actually spent time in the suspected murderer’s home. Today, Saldivar admitted as much, though he was quick to disassociate himself from Mason whom he says he hasn’t seen since last September.

John Saldivar, Minister of National Security

“I don’t know who he is well connected to and I don’t know what you mean by well connected. If you’re asking the question if I know Mr. Mason, obviously he is a resident of Belmopan and a businessman. In terms of my direct involvement with him at some point last year he had made some contributions to my football club the Bandits, but that is the extent of it. I have not heard from or seen Mr. Mason since September last year. We do not at this time have any friendship.”

“Mr. Saldivar – when this gentleman came to you and you came to know him and I imagine there were these conversations about having him support the Bandits, and we’re being told other teams as well…from what we’re hearing it’s a situation where other people thought there was something odd, thought that he was seeking them dreams. Did you ever try to investigate the background of this individual?”

John Saldivar

“As I said earlier I have not spoken to Mr. Mason since September of last year, and I can say to you that the reason for that is that I was provided with background information that convinced me that I ought not to have a relationship with this gentlemen – the same information which I believe is now being seen on various internet sites. Prior to that no…we knew nothing of that gentlemen until that information was brought to us. He represented himself to be an upright and upstanding businessman who assisted in the community and assisted in sports and assisted in many other areas. But as soon as I found out from a source about his supposed background in other countries I certainly decided for myself that it was not a good thing to have a relationship or friendship with him.”

John Saldivar got it correct. Himself, not the country.
He got a whiff of the stench, and knew it was time to look away.
That is why he will never be PM.

Saldivar can no even answer the question he was asked, ” Did you ever try to investigate the background of this individual?”
Instead he rant on how he “no longer” have any friendship with Mason. they are not asking him if he still hold hands with this creature, they asked him if he after finding out about this website or heard about other allegation he set up an investigation. Yet they quick to hurry raid at predawn the homes of the 13 villagers at Santa Cruz as if they were murders.
    Money talks and bullshit walks.

He knows exactly what “well connected” means. I wonder how many other well connected criminals are being allowed to operate with immunity in Belize. Come one channel 5, dig a little deeper. Or are you afraid you might dig too close to home?

If Saldivar knew that this man had a corrupted back ground, why didn’t the police which he commands did not investigate him. They would have found how corrupt this man was. He is a worthless, incompetent minister which shouldn’t be in government .
