Another Woman is Killed in RTA on Hummingbird Highway
There was another fatal road traffic accident over the weekend. On Friday evening, just after four o’clock twenty-eight-year-old Jodine Gill, a teacher of Roaring Creek Village, was driving her 2004 Nissan X-Terra SUV to Belmopan, when she lost control of the steering and overturned in the vicinity of mile thirty-five on the Hummingbird Highway. Traveling with her at the time were two passengers – thirty-one-year-old Dona Escoto and thirty-year-old Dania Portillo. Escoto was killed in the accident while Portillo received a broken left leg and rushed to Belize City for medical attention. Gill sustained head injuries and abrasions to both her hands. Police have since obtained a blood sample from her and an investigation into the accident continues.
