More Retaliation Expected for Michael Wallace Murder

Michael Wallace

On Monday, we reported of a murder near the Mile Eight community on the George Price Highway. Twenty-three year old Michael Wallace was shot and killed as he traveled in a white Nissan Altima along with his brother and a friend. Gunmen from two other vehicles, an Infinity SUV and a Trail Blazer, opened fire after sandwiching the Altima car. On Monday, the main witness of the crime, Wallace’s older brother Richard, gave a statement to the Hattieville Police. Today, Assistant Commissioner of Police Edward Broaster says that it was of no help to the investigation and that there may be retaliation for this recent homicide.

ACP Edward Broaster, Regional Commander, Rural Eastern Division

“That statement bared no facts to us that would enable us to further the investigation at this time; the victims are not cooperating with us.”

Duane Moody

“Has anyone else been detained? I know you said that there was one person taken off a bus.”

ACP Edward Broaster

“There was one person that was detained; he has since been released and nobody else has since been detained. I think it was on Channel Seven that the mother made some threats. We are looking at that. Like I said, the victims…we are not having any cooperation from them.”

Reporter

“Meaning that you really can’t go further into the investigation at this point because they are not cooperating?”

Edward Broaster

ACP Edward Broaster

“Well we continue to investigation but they are the ones who saw what happened and they are not cooperating with us in sharing that information and we believe it is because they are planning to retaliate; hence the reason why I am saying that our investigation continues.”

Duane Moody

“Are you guys doing anything to prevent that retaliation or see how you guys can mitigate it?”

ACP Edward Broaster

“Well we have shared information with the south side commander who will have the daunting task of dealing with any retaliation that might occur of this incident. And I am sure that he will be prepared to deal with it.”

Duane Moody

“Sir there is also the issue of the vehicles. I believe that several of them were stolen or there is an issue with ownership and insurance and all of that. Could you talk to us about that and how it would hamper the investigation that the department is doing?”

ACP Edward Broaster

“That will in no way hamper the investigation. As a matter of fact, like I said earlier, an individual attempted to make a report. Nevertheless, we are looking for the owner of the Infinity and so far we haven’t found him as yet.”

Reporter

“Sir the fourth vehicle?”

ACP Edward Broaster

“The fourth vehicle, we are looking for the owner as well.”

Duane Moody

“So you know the fourth vehicle that picked up the guys?”

ACP Edward Broaster

“Yes.”
