Police Investigate Accident in the City

Up to news time, statements were being recorded by the police on an accident that occurred just before three this afternoon in Belize City. A motorcyclist was knocked down at the corner of Douglas Jones and North Front Streets on north side Belize City. Both the cyclist and a woman in a white SUV were traveling in opposite direction and turning on to North Front Street, the vehicle collided into the motorcycle. The impact sent the cyclist to the pavement. Ambulance and police were on the scene shortly after and the cyclist was rushed to the K.H.M.H. for medical attention. A woman standing nearby witnessed the ordeal and told News Five about what happened.

Voice of: Witness

“I was talking to my friend and I wasn’t paying no attention to this side where the incident happened; I was looking that way. And all that I heard is a hard bang and I see the cycle on the ground and the man on the side of the drug store. That’s all. I didn’t see anything else; I only heard the loud bang, I didn’t see anything.”

Duane Moody
