Roger Anthony Before the Court for Weed Possession

Roger Anthony

On the eve of his thirty-ninth birthday, notorious street figure, Roger Anthony spent the night in lockdown at the Queen Street Police Station for the possession of a miniscule amount of controlled drugs which the Gang Suppression Unit says it found on him. Anthony was taken to court in hand cuffs this morning for one point four grams of weed reportedly found on him on Wednesday night on Mayflower Street.  He was unrepresented and pleaded not guilty. Inspector Hector Rodriguez had no objection to bail, but raised concerns about the number of times Anthony has been before the courts including his most recent appearance a week ago and he requested the court to set stringent conditions.  With that, Magistrate Deborah Rogers offered him bail in the sum of one thousand dollars, which he met and he is due back in court in June. Last week, Anthony was in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court following his detention for disorderly conduct at the P.G.I.A.  He had returned to the country after he was denied entry into Panama where he claimed he intended to seek medical attention for back pain.
