F.F.B. President Facing a Coup D’etat

Ruperto Vicente

Earlier we told you about the rumblings at B.T.L., but that is not the only place where there is discontent. At news time, we are told that the executive of the Football Federation of Belize has been meeting all day on the future of its president, Ruperto Vicente. The executive is not happy with Vicente’s performance. Vicente was elected four years ago but he’s facing a coup d’etat tonight since three executive members want him out as president. The meeting reportedly called by Executive member, Sergio Chuc, passed a no confidence against the president. Chuc charges that Vicente is acting in violation of the football rules and has allowed district elections to be held improperly. News Five understands that a trio of executives, including Chuc, Marlon Kuylen and Cruz Gamez have been actively seeking the removal of Vicente as president of F.F.B. If Vicente is removed, it will pave the way for Chuc to run uncontested as President of the F.F.B.
