Belmopan Police Seek Killer of Zhijuang Zhang

Zhijuang Zhang

Belmopan Police are still on the hunt for a cold-blooded killer in that jurisdiction, for the brutal murder of Chinese bar owner Zhijuang Zhang on Saturday morning. Zhang was stabbed and slashed seven times, his throat cut by a man who entered the Sixty-Nine Bar in Teakettle through a window in the rear of the building. That man also shot a Guatemalan waitress who tried to come to Zhang’s aid. The murder weapon was not found on the scene, but two days after, on Monday, the News Five team found a large knife in the bushes about fifteen feet from the entrance of the bar. The knife has dried red stains on it, and Police immediately took it in for testing. The results of that test – firstly to see if the dried red substance is blood, and if so, to compare it with Zhang’s blood, should be available Friday. Belmopan Police are also running prints found on the knife through their database, a process which may take a little longer.
