Yhony Rosado Calls on G.O.B. to Help Small Operators

Yhony Rosado

As he does at every conference and every opportunity, small tour operator Yhony Rosado of Cave-tubing.com called on government to act on their behalf. He claims that the livelihood of the small-timers is being snuffed out and if not addressed they will end up going out of business.

Yhony Rosado, Executive Member, FECTAB

“We’ve been hit where it hurts. Bob Marley wrote a song Who Feels It Knows It, and the government should know that NICH and the B.T.B. are there for the big companies. They’re not there for the little companies. The little companies have families too. We, the local tour operators, the local tour guides, the local entrepreneurs have family too. We have people to feed. While the big companies are stockpiling money to take to heaven, we are just trying to make some money to live our lives in our country peacefully. We have come to realize with all we’ve shown you that Belize is not being an equal place to live anymore. In our industry we are feeling the pain, we’re feeling the hammer when we cannot work peacefully by NICH employees, our own government officials while the other companies are riding smooth, making money and living la vida loca. I call on government to do its job. We just had elections a couple months ago and we for the record stated that we did not come on television because of elections. We did not want any U.D.P.s to qualify us as P.U.P.s, or any P.U.P.s to qualify us as U.D.P.s. We are here as tour operators, we are here as FECTAB. We are here as the young people of this country trying to make a better life for our families. What has happened to NICH and B.T.B. working against us is not going to make it happen.”
