Patrick Faber Congratulates New P.U.P. Leader

Patrick Faber

Minister of Education Patrick Faber convened the media today at the ITVET Compound on Freetown Road, Belize City. It was a pre-event to the launch of an education conference on Wednesday. But information on the conference was eclipsed by the national convention of the People’s United Party. Minister Faber, who is also aspiring to lead his party sometime down the road, opened his remarks this afternoon congratulating the new leader of the P.U.P.

Patrick Faber, Member, U.D.P.

“I want to congratulate Mister Briceño; I think he will make a good party leader for the P.U.P. once again. I texted him last night to give him my personal congratulations. Of course, I hope that that can be the signal of the P.U.P. getting their act together. While we are an opposing party, it is always in the interest of our democracy to have a good strong opposition. Some of the talking that I’ve been hearing indicates that some of the P.U.P. parliamentarians might not be willing to sign on to removing Mister Fonseca as leader of the opposition and being behind Mister Briceño and I hope that that is not the case. For the sake of our nation, we do need a good, viable opposition and I’m hoping that at least that can come from Mister Briceño’s leadership. I think it was a good show of democracy although there were some things that to me could have gone better.”
