Commissioner of Police Condemns Officers Committing Sex Crimes

On December twenty-nine, Police Constable Luke Moreira, assigned to the San Ignacio Police Formation, was arraigned on two counts of rape. He was accused of taking a woman prisoner out of her cell and sexually assaulting her. Even as Police reeled from that scandal, two days after Police Constable Kyle Serrano, attached to the San Pedro Formation, was arraigned on three counts of sexual assault. He was accused of inappropriate contact with a thirteen year old, not once but three times. A black eye for the department for sure, but today Police Commissioner Whylie told us that while incidents like these will happen, they will never be tolerated or condoned.

Allen Whylie

Allen Whylie, Commissioner of Police

“The department is a little over two thousand strong. That’s two thousand individuals with different personalities. The incidents that took place were two terrible incidents that should never have occurred. The officers both knew better, not only as Police Officers but as individuals, and they chose to do wrong and the department confronted it head on. When it was reported to us we did our investigation and where the evidence was found we dealt with both officers. They have both been charged. They have both been interdicted. It is not the first time these incidents have occurred. I am sure it won’t be the last because individual officers make choices and sometimes they make the wrong choices but once it reaches us it is not condoned and we exhaust our investigation. If we are able to deal with them we deal with them. It won’t be condoned.”

kudos to the compol on his so called zero tolerance to police abuse/doing the wrong thing. why didn’t the media asked him, what about those he protects who do the wrong thing and are implicated on criminal charges and are arraigned before magistrates and are still fully employed under his department. are these officers so special or do they have political protection. ASK HIM THAT QUESTION.
