Guatemalan National Rapes Ladyville Woman and Absconds

Edward Broaster

An eighteen-year-old woman was sexually assaulted a little over a month ago in Ladyville.  A report of the incident was not filed until New Year’s Day.  According to Rural Eastern Division Commander, Senior Superintendent Edward Broaster, the suspect is believed to be a Guatemalan national.  While he could not explain the delay in reporting the rape, Broaster says it happened in the Spanish Town area.

Sr. Supt. Edward Broaster, Regional Commander, Rural Eastern Division

“We had in the Rural Eastern Division the report of a rape by an eighteen-year-old female which occurred on the first of December.  The rape was reported on the first of January.  It happened in Spanish Town and we have since been looking for a Guatemalan national with respect to that report.  Apparently, it was not necessarily someone she knew, someone that came and spoke to her and then took her in his vehicle to a secluded area and raped her and took her back to where he removed her.”

“Where did this incident happen?”

Sr. Supt. Edward Broaster

“In Spanish Town, Ladyville.”

Mike Rudon

“Is there any indication at this time why she waited a month before making a report?”

Sr. Supt. Edward Broaster

“We are not clear exactly as to why she waited to make this report.  We’re investigating the matter and we will deal with it as the evidence falls.”
