PM Addresses Corruption in Immigration

Dean Barrow

After that apology of sorts to Mexico, P.M. Barrow also embarked on a variation of his infamous ‘for God’s sake stop it’ exhortation, and again…the issue is corruption in immigration and the involvement of Ministers in that corruption.

Dean Barrow, Prime Minister

“I tremendously regret that this has happened, it is an indictment to the system and I was very clear when I said to the media that this sort of thing has got to stop and that I was not pointing the finger at public officers, I was pointing the finger to public servants and I made it clear that when public officers and ministers engage in the kind of behaviour that leads to this sort of eventuality, it is scandalous, it is to be condemned and I wish to God that it has come to appoint and we will see the day where we are going to be able to free ourselves from any repetition of this sort of occurrence. So really Belize is scarred when these sorts of incidents occur. I am certain that the minister of Immigration will be able to provide a full accounting of exactly how this thing took place with respect of the acquisition by the fellow of the nationality certificate.”

  1. Ali BaBarrow, a god amongst men says:

I tremendously regret that my cabinet thieves are sloppy and stupid, but for god sakes man, they are loyal to me and the money I give them. I will talk to them later about upping their game. Good thieves should not be caught, it causes me to stop my stealing to cover their ass. I can only ask the media to stop reporting this and cover stories of women stealing underwear, I am sure this is more important to my Belizean Citizens. As for these drug planes entering the country, stay focused on tourists with a stick of weed, it annoys my cartel friends, making it harder to get the planes back to them.

  2. Spike says:

Perhaps the GOB could merge the Lands Department and the Immigration Department in order to streamline the corruption within the government.

  3. CEO says:

    Make them stop it!

You really believe they will just wake up one day with a change of heart? They are all hustlers and crooks!

  4. Patriot says:

“merge the Lands Department and the Immigration Department”–In this noble task, Godsend Hulse knows best how to do it and he in charge of that!

  5. Jerry says:

I think that both the Immigration and the Lands department should be based at Hattieville Central Prison. The people who run these departments would be where they rightly belong then.
