Inspiration Calendar 2016 Launched

The Inspiration Calendar is now in its fifth edition. The latest publication was launched today by the Office of the Special Envoy for Women and Children along with McNab Design. The calendar continues to feature the artwork of children living with disabilities as a way of promoting awareness to reduce discrimination. Isani Cayetano has a report on today’s launch.

The inspiration Calendar 2016 is officially out and it can be yours to own by supporting the efforts of the Inspiration Center. The annual timetable focuses on children with special needs. Earlier today, a small group of government officials and patrons, as well as the children themselves were present for the launch of the calendar.

“Congratulating Kim and McNab Publishing for their commitment for making the production of this communication material and annual event, The production of these agendas is such a remarkable way of fusing the objective of fundraising with the objective of the worthy cause with which you fundraise. They are unfortunately not many opportunities and conduits in our society through which our children with disabilities can get to showcase their talents This annual calendar I very important in highlighting the artistic talent in this group of children.  It provides and invaluable conduit of self expression for them to share their thoughts and ideas. It is a way for their voices to be heard. It is an excellent example of children participation for an often excluded and voiceless population. The spirit and philosophy of this calendar is very much in sync with the Ministry of Education’s policy ion inclusion and mainstreaming of children with disabilities.”

“The children’s calendar and the corporate agenda that came out of a small idea some years ago that Kim dreamed up and gave me a call and I said okay we will try it out. We never thought that we would be able to make such large contributions to this beautiful inspiration center. I think we must be nearing almost $150, 000 which is something we never imagined we would have been able to do and it really is due to the support we get from the community and the businesses in the community. It’s a project we have fun with especially as we go through the drawing. This year we saw that the children teamed their drawings to each month. As the project grows you see everybody makes it a little more special and we are pleased to see that the children brought out colors to represent the month they were given and that was relay exciting. And as you can imagine the calendar themed “Embracing our abilities, celebrating our Belize” is more colorful than ever. If you have not gotten a copy we can make an arrangement for that. In addition I think we have a lot of people to say thank you to.”
