Has Election Loss Blown Wind Out of Bradley’s Political Sail?

Darrell Bradley

There’s been enough speculation that Mayor Bradley was aspiring to lead the United Democratic Party. But has the loss at the general elections put a wrench in Bradley’s political aspirations?  Here’s his response.

Darrell Bradley, Belize City Mayor

“The elections are a little more than a week and it is very difficult to speculate about a lot of those things. I have always said that a leader is a person of service. You can be a blessing to others as a leader in multiple capacities. I had felt that I’ve done a good job as mayor. I think that the average person, regardless of political affiliation, will appreciate that that is a fair statement. And whatever the future holds, it is in God’s hands; it is in the people’s hands. I cannot predict what will happen in the future because I don’t know. And so you go on. I mean it is something that you are going to ask me what does this do, what does that do; I don’t know. I don’t think that people know but what you do is that you continue to work. And I will continue to work. This morning I was out here supporting the Salvation Army; I have several other ongoing projects this week. We are doing couple major initiatives at the City Council like continuing to work on trade license reform; we are trying to finalize our collective bargaining agreement; we have a little bit more time since the elections is over. So we continue to work.”
