Warrant Issued for Immediate Arrest of Mr. Program

Gilbert Alamilla

Tonight, a warrant for his immediate arrest has been issued against thirty-year old Gilbert Alamilla, who is the well known performing artist, “Mister Program”. This follows his conviction in absentia for aggravated assault and using obscene words to Corporal Aniber Castellanos. In court, the officer testified that Alamilla kicked him in his chest and used expletives on him.  The incident occurred on November twenty-fourth, 2014 at Kelly Street in Belize City and Mister Program was found guilty this morning at around noon in a trial heard before Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith. Castellanos along with another officer, Javier Hernandez, told the court that they responded to a call of a domestic dispute at Kelly Street. The cops testified that when they attempted to handcuff the artist, he hit Castellanos and ran into his house and locked the door.  Police later got him to open the door and he was escorted to the station and charged with two offenses, assaulting a police officer and using obscene words.  Today, the Chief Magistrate had no defence coming from Mister Program, but concluded that based on the evidence presented, he was guilty. She imposed two non-custodial sentences and fined him six hundred dollars for the offense of aggravated assault two hundred dollars for using obscene words.  But since he was not in court, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
