“Sometime around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, October thirtieth, 2015 based on information received of an attempted robbery at Johnson Distributors located on North Street, Punta Gorda Town, police responded to that location where one, upon their arrival there they saw one Jeremy Parham of a Belize City address, twenty-three-years-old detained.  As a result of that a point three-eighty pistol revolver, along with five live rounds were handed over to the police.  The information is that Parham, along with two others, went to this location to commit a robbery.  However, he was manpowered by a retired sergeant who was at the location at the time and had a struggle with him, who took away the firearm from him.  At the time he had on a jacket, a long sleeve jacket and a warm cap, so he was a little bit masked by using that material that he had.  After he was being held down, the police brought him to the police station where he was later on arrested and charged for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and he was also charged for three counts of aggravated assault committed upon the individuals which included the owner of the distributor, Mr. John Johnson, sixty-five-years-old, and the other two persons that were there at the time when the attempted robbery had occurred.  Nothing was stolen however, and he was subsequently arrested and charged and then remanded to the Hattieville Prison.”
