Integrity Commission Not Looking Likely in the Near Future

Dean Barrow

Governments of the P.U.P. and the U.D.P. have both been accused, rightly or wrongly, of rampant corruption and unchecked abuse of public monies. For that reason, many believe that this next general election will hinge largely on which party is willing to limit its own power and allow for real oversight. The body which theoretically is positioned to provide that much needed oversight is the Integrity Commission, but like the PAC, that body has been defunct. The PM didn’t seem to appreciate questions about that body.

Prime Minister Dean Barrow

“The powers that be abroad have come up with this question of politically exposed persons and the wonderful appointees that we had proposed to make to the Integrity Commission backed out because they didn’t want to be characterised as politically exposed persons with all that that brings. For example, there must be an accountant. Once we can find a chartered accountant who is prepared to serve, understanding that that then opens him/her up to scrutiny on the part of the U.S. and others, we will proceed.”

“Is it a priority for your administration?”

Prime Minister Dean Barrow

“Is what a priority? Which one?”

Reporter

“The Integrity Commission…”

Prime Minister Dean Barrow

“Of course it is a priority.”

Reporter

“…because this is something that was promised from 2014.”

Prime Minister Dean Barrow

“Sir, I’ve just explained to you that we made the appointments as you know and then the people backed out. Next.”

I don’t think integrity is anything that would be particularly embraced within the GOB – especially within the Department of Lands and Surveys.

What a horrible creature! This man wants to handle people like they are children. I pray that the good Lord removes him from power on November 4th, 2015.

    Matt. 7:16
“By their fruits you will know them.”

    Psalms 75:7
“But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.”

When man get a little power how soon they become puffed up. We should remember though that God will always have the last word.

    Daniel 2:21
“It is He who changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men And knowledge to men of understanding.”

Pride comes before a fall and what a great fall this man will have.

Haha, if committee is formed, lie detector should be put in place.
