COLA’s Sustains Anti-Government Campaign

Geovanni Brackett

COLA brought out a large number of supporters to the Santa Rita Room of the Radisson where President Geovanni Brackett once again demanded a boycott of trade and services with Guatemala.  He also reiterated the call for Foreign Minister Wilfred “Sedi” Elrington’s immediate removal.

“There’s no more reason why we should continue to issue those accepting Guatemalans to becoming Belizean citizens.  In fact we should probably we even stop spending our money at Melchor.  What kind of prime minister and foreign minister after allegedly a child was touched by a Guatemalan and the family stoned out of Melchor, and we haven’t had no response.”

“Our reason for being here is to ask the prime minister of this country to come clean with the Belizean people and show us the extremely strong protest note that he claimed he has sent to Guatemala.  Secondly, we would like for the prime minister to reveal to the Belizean public as we know that his administration got into power based on the fact that they said to the Belizean people that they would be transparent, more transparent than the other party.  We would like to ask him to reveal the contents of the response that this government of Belize got from the Guatemalan government after he has sent the so-called strong protest note.  So those are the things that we are asking for today.”
