Ramada Belize City Princess Leased to Asian Company

Late this evening News Five received confirmation of very significant news which happened completely under wraps. The Ramada Belize City Princess has changed management, effective today. We are told that the Princess, which recently associated itself with the popular Wyndham Ramada brand, is now being completely leased by an Asian company known as Gray Enterprises Limited. Details are scarce, but News Five has also been reliably informed that employees have received letters of termination, effective October first. Those letters note that the new leaseholders will make their own decisions as to staff, but advise those being terminated by the Ramada Belize City Princess to perform well during the transition period to encourage the new leaseholders to keep them on. We’ll have more information for you in Wednesday’s newscast.

And we have a government who obviously had already gotten wind of this, sit idly by and let this happen. So, basically, these employees will have to suffer more injustices and insults by their still current employer in order to keep a job in a failing economy. You jack$%^&* on the streets can “keep rolling.” It’s you same ignorant ones who run for free food, fifty dollars and free alcohol behind these greedy, thieving politicians will suffer even more.

This sale to Chinese interests proves how stupid, immature, and economically short-sighted the government and Belizeans really are. Do you mean to tell us that an acquisition couldn’t have been made where 25% of shares ( ownership) remain in Belizean hands so that Belizeans can preserve their jobs outright , retain a stake in development of the tourist and hotel industries. Why is it that Belizeans are excluded from all capital intensive investments every time ? Are we truly that stupid ? Where are our genius politicians we elected to protect our interests ? So now China owns almost 100% of mercantile activities, they own the lottery business, they are trying to corner the real estate market ( but having difficulty because of American intrusion there ), the Mennonites monopolize farming, our food basket, Construction, and auto and farm implements; the India Indians and Arabs have their pieces of the economic pie preserved. So what’s left for Belizeans? Government jobs only ? What happens when these foreigners get the vote totally ? Belizeans won’t have that safety net nor a chamber pot. Maybe some pott if they retain a piece of land.
