Human Remains Discovered in Salvapan

Belmopan Police have made at least some progress in identifying skeletal remains found Sunday in the Salvador Area of Belmopan. A Guatemalan farmer, who went to cut sticks in a bushy area of Costa Rica Street extension, got a nasty surprise when he discovered the bones. So far an examination has revealed that the remains are those of a female above the age of eighteen, and the body has been at that location for at least three months. She was also wearing pants with a floral design, but police were unable to determine the colour of the blouse, and no jewellery was found in the area. Tonight personnel at the Belmopan Police Department are poring over missing person reports for that period, but are also asking residents of Belmopan and the surrounding communities to contact them if they have any information that can assist. Late this evening, police sources told News Five that they are unable to conclude the cause of death, but are proceeding with further testing to reach that determination.
