Andy Grant

Two men drowned in the Caribbean Sea in Corozal Town today within hours of each other. Around five-thirty this evening, the body of a man discovered floating in the sea reportedly in the Rainbow Beach area. Details are still sketchy but police were only able to confirm that following a call to the station, police were deployed to the scene. Earlier today, another body was fished out of the sea in the area where the old Corozal market once stood in that northern municipality. The victim, forty-one year old San Andres villager, Andy Grant, was found floating in the Corozal Bay area at around nine-thirty this morning. Police were shortly after on scene to retrieve Grant’s body from the water. The body was shirtless and clothed in a dark short pants. Grant is well-known in the municipality and foul play is not suspected. News Five spoke via phone to Deputy Officer Commanding Corozal Police, Assistant Superintendent Peter Serano earlier today.
