Dan Silva Says G12 is Only Fighting to Make P.U.P. Better…

Dan Silva

Cayo Central Standard Bearer Dan Silva was the chief organizer of the first leg of the P.U.P. national tour in San Ignacio which was planned some time ago, even before the revolt in the P.U.P.  He is also among the original G-twelve, which is now down to G-ten, who oppose the existing state of affairs within the party.  While the P.U.P. acceded to an endorsement convention where Francis Fonseca’s seat as party leader remains unchallenged, it is not necessarily what the discontented faction is demanding.  According to Silva, they are in receipt of a letter from party chairman Henry Charles Usher.  Until that letter is reviewed later this week, the G-twelve is yet to take a position going forward.

“They have written us a letter which we have not seen.  We will analyze it this week and decide what we do.”

“Sir, you all are asking for change.  The Deputy Leader Mr. Espat has said, you know what but if you’re asking for something then you need to come out and consult with them, have discussions.  We notice that this core group has boycotted two meetings and the main core of them are not here today.  Could I get a response?”

Dan Silva

“Well like I said, I was involved in the organizing of this one so I have no problem being out here today.  We are P.U.P.s, we want to change the government and we have our own ideas but we want to see more people participation in the P.U.P.”

“So if you hadn’t organized this would you have been here given that this issue is still unresolved?”

Dan Silva

“I will refrain from answering that one.”

Mike Rudon

“Do you see a time in the near future when the core actually meets with the party leader, meets with the people who are in the executive to discuss actively a chart for change?”

Dan Silva

“That is what we hope will happen and we are willing to discuss at anytime.  We are not fighting to destroy anything, we want to make it better.”
