Trio Acquitted of Theft and Handling Stolen Goods, Grandma Refuses to Press Charges

A minor who was charged for taking his grandmother’s jewellery walked out of Court free today when she declined to press charges. The burglary occurred on Monday, when the woman discovered that over ten thousand dollars in jewellery was missing from her home. A Police investigation led to JL’s where the jewellery had been pawned, and from there to her grandson, fourteen. Two other men, taxi-driver David Jacobs, forty-three and construction worker Eric Spencer, thirty-one, where found to have pawn tickets for some of the items. The trio appeared before magistrate Ladonna John today, where they were charged for handling stolen goods. But the minor’s grandmother was also in Court to inform the Magistrate that she did not want to press charges, and so the matter was thrown out, with the trio walking out of Court free
