Michael Blease

The Football Federation of Belize has since spent over four hundred thousand dollars on the last two qualifying rounds of the World Cup Games. But the upcoming match will need an estimated budget of three hundred thousand dollars – monies which the F.F.B. does not have. Secretary General Michael Blease says that they will need the support of both the public and private sectors to secure financing.

Michael Blease, Secretary General, F.F.B.

“We have to admit that we have made a lot of sacrifice. It is proven by just the ranking now that we have made a lot of financial sacrifices and we now depend on the public sector, the private sector, the government sector to assist. We are certain that help with come. We have spent over four hundred thousand dollars. We’ve asked our finance director to provide us with those figures that the nation can know what we have spent; that the nation can now look at helping us to move forward into the third round. The budget is almost three hundred thousand dollars for the third round; we don’t know who we will play, but the finance director has prepared a budget and definitely we are looking out for people to support financial for the third and the fourth round.”

“Do you think that with this jump, maybe that would be a motivation for those out there who can lend that support?”

Michael Blease
“It should be. It should be great motivation for the people of Belize. The government has already indicated that they will support, some of the private sector has already indicated that they will support. But jumping this thirty-three plus points, don’t wait. Give us that support. The players are waiting, the administration is waiting; you guys from the media, we ask you to assist. We need that support.”
