Twins Charged for Harm After Beat-down

Tanisha Bodden

This morning, twin sisters, Tanisha and Tenisha Bodden of Arlington Drive, Belize City were arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on a single charge of Harm. It is claimed that on Tuesday, the sisters attacked Aldeshia Flowers at the corner of Arlington Drive and Central American Boulevard. This morning in the courtroom of Senior Magistrate, Sharon Fraser, Tanisha pleaded not guilty while her sister, Tenisha pleaded guilty with an explanation. Tenisha claimed she was heading home from work when she saw her sister in a heated argument with a young lady, she intervened, but the young woman got offended and that a confrontation ensued.  According to Tenisha, the young lady did not request any court action so she is surprised that she was taken to court.  With that explanation, the Senior Magistrate, entered an equivocal plea of not guilty on her behalf and offered both sisters bail in the sum of five hundred dollars plus one surety of the same amount.

Their case was adjourned for August seventeenth, 2015.  But some old bills came back to haunt the twin sisters as court records show that Tanisha and Tenisha owed the court.  Tanisha owes seven hundred and fifty dollars for an old aggravated assault conviction.  But her sister admitted that the pending bill was hers. That cleared, Tenisha also owes two other fines for which she must serve a total of five months behind bars, while for the seven hundred and fifty dollar fine, she must serve another six months if she doesn’t pay. That’s a total of eleven months for which Tenisha became emotional and begged the court for leniency saying she is gainfully employed and does not want to lose her job.  Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser gave her a break and told her that she must make sure that all her outstanding bills are paid in full by the time she returns to court.

Leniency? For what? For the same crime you committed a while back and now in court again for the same thing, Aggravated Assault? It seems as if you have a pattern and maybe jail time would have been the only thing that would have cooled you off. Consider yourself lucky!
