C.E.O.’s Management Style Drew the Wrath of Immigration Dept.

Candelaria Saldivar

We also finally got an opportunity – finally – to ask Hulse about his former C.E.O. in the Ministry of Immigration, Candelaria Saldivar. Three weeks ago Saldivar, quite abruptly, was placed on administrative leave. And nobody would tell us why. Hulse did not respond to our calls and texts and even whatsapp queries. Today he didn’t dodge the question, at least not directly, and after a time confirmed, vaguely, that Saldivar was removed because of her management style which drew the wrath of others in the department.

Godwin Hulse, Minister of Immigration

“This is the sixth C.E.O. that’s been shuffled around in the government. This not new! Government moves their people around as they see fit. First of all she’s not been suspended…definitely not been fired and has not been accused of doing anything wrong cause she didn’t do anything wrong. It is part of restructuring to try to get many things in the department to try and move in a different direction and we look for strengths in people where they are and place them where they don’t. So that is happened with Ms. Saldivar. The same thing happened with C.E.O. Rosado. He was C.E.O. in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and moved from there to send to Guatemala which one could see as a demotion because he is now under a C.E.O.  It’s not. It’s where he has the best strength that he has been sent. Ms. Saldivar is going to be placed in another Ministry where her strengths are going to be utilized so she’s not suspended, not fired and definitely not blacklisted.”

“Sir that’s apples and oranges! You’re talking about C.E.O.s who are moved to other places where their strengths are needed. Ms. Saldivar was not moved to somewhere else. She was placed on administrative leave. Currently the Office of the Prime Minister has no idea where they will put her. That’s a little out of the ordinary I would think.”

Godwin Hulse

“They will find a place to put her.”

Mike Rudon

“But is it normal to take somebody out and just put them in limbo? This is somebody who has served in a senior position for a long time…to just take them out for no reason. This is not like I saw your strengths needed somewhere else. This is more like I saw that you weren’t needed here.”

Godwin Hulse

“Well you can twist that cup any way you want…half full or half empty. My position is very clear. In moving the Ministry forward or driving the Ministry forward we try to position people as best as we can. Your colleague asked the question if there was any disagreement between HODs and other people because that is being rumoured wild around. I want to clarify that in many situations in that Ministry, even with myself, you will find people who say that they wish they would get rid of Minister Hulse – he’s too tough, he’s too strong – they don’t have that opportunity to do so. That is only for the Prime Minister. The truth of the matter is that many people in the Ministry found that the C.E.O. – she’s on the money, she’s precise, she’s accurate, she’s a very good accounting officer and many people found that her strengths were too stiff, and in terms of trying to get people to work together, we have to try to bring harmony, so it is not an indictment on her. It is just that in human relationships and in human nature there may be many back and forth nuances that come up in our daily lives. The Prime Minister and the Cabinet has decided okay, we will place her in another spot where her strengths will be better utilized, and for the time being I have an acting C.E.O.  That’s the end of the story.”

The minister takes on other issues later in the newscast.

As usual, you try to feed the public some bullshit Godwin. I’ve said before, I’ve known Candy and her cousins , the Tillets for years. If Candy had one-half the brain as Ambrose and Patrick, she’d be okay; even the aforementioned two have fallen right in the ranks of political favours and one crossed Darrel at City Council and had to be moved. Candy has had more jobs than the “draws” she’s changed. Point blank, SHE IS A DUMB WASTE! Exclamation mark. So, don’t try to butter it up at all.
