Skeet Remanded for Firearm Offences
A well-known street figure of Mayflower Street, Belize City was taken to court this morning for a shooting that occurred on Banak Street two weeks ago. Art Skeet appeared before Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith and was read three indictable offenses including Attempted Murder, Use of Deadly Means of Harm and Wounding eighteen year old teenager, Nissane Usher who was shot once to the hip on April seventeenth, 2015. Because a firearm was used no bail was granted and Skeet was remanded into custody at the Belize Central Prison until his next court date on August twelfth, 2015. According to police reports, Usher and a group of other men were standing at the corner of Banak Street and Magazine Road, when a man pulled up in the area and fired as many as five shots in their direction; one caught Usher in the hip, but was not fatal.
