Taprick and Concego Launch New Punta Albums

Concego and Taprick the Sheriff…they’re well established names on the musical scene and only getting bigger and better. Today, they were guests on our morning show since both are launching new albums simultaneously. Taprick is keeping faithful to his style with edgy lyrics and fast-paced beats while Concego told us that the eleven tracks on the new album entitled Puntaveli are all about his calmer side.

“First time when I came out I was hungry to get out there and establish myself…that’s why I was like, you know – Bust It All, Rodeo, Siddown and Bounce…you know, da lee club bangers and stuff but now you know da just calm and chill out. Dis da like my third album, and I just be chilling. Dat da why I call it Puntaveli…da just chilling. I got Aziatic on the album, I got Little Joan, Gomi, Berndette, Gilharry, Nigma, a collab with Donkey Man on the brukdown song. It was a great experience.”

 

Reporter

“So you would say this is a more conscious album?”

 

Concego

“Yeah…yeah…lot more words deh get out of me…more lyrics bout life and stuff yu know. Message like you know the way Belize is like, yu know…poverty, people deh suffer, and just righteousness, that’s all.”

 

Reporter

“Give me a sample from one of your favourite tracks…”

 

Concego

“[Sings...] I know unu like da one deh. I write da one because of the violence and how mi people deh live right now.”

 

Taprick

Taprick, Musical Artist

“Dis da wah punta rock album…di album name punta rave…have fourteen songs pon it, reggae, soca, paranda, punta. I just deh try reach out to the fans, you know. They have new music all the time from Taprick, yu know, party music, stay happy and enjoy life.”

 

Reporter

“This isn’t the first time we’ve heard the name Taprick. Yu deh round wah lee while. What has been the response of the Belizean people to your music?”

 

Taprick

“Well yu know nuff ah they always show me respect, show me love and support so I always have to big up the fans all the time. I got Joe deh Cause Murderation…(sings)…da soh we do it. Yeah man.”
