City Infrastructure Push Continues

Darrell Bradley

Notwithstanding the mayor seeking higher office, Bradley says that as a council, they have been aggressively looking at new plans for the city which will be rolled out in the short-term.

Darrell Bradley, Belize City Mayor

“Going into the next term, we are working very closely…for the last month, we have been meeting with our councilors; we have been meeting with our stakeholders to unveil an additional series of infrastructures. We have councilor Samuels, who is right behind me, he can attest to the fact that we have been very aggressive to ensure that we want to continue the good work that was done under the last three years. We were talking about the Commercial Center Project; working with NICH and B.T.B. in relation to the downtown urban redevelopment project; doing some zoning in relation to our community engagement; dealing with a second wave of B.T.L. Park and getting the Cumberbatch Field in the Fabers Road area of Belize City started in a very short period of time. We are not doing something like the hundred-day plan like we did before, but in a short period, I am going to make an announcement in relation to what we think we can accomplish in relation to the City Council within a reasonably short period of time. So nobody in this city has to feel that my loyalties, my dedication will be curtailed or diminished in anyway. I will be effective as a mayor for the full time in which I serve in the office. And people can see that in terms of demonstrations because there are works continuing in the city since the elections.”

As we’ve said, the convention is set for June seventh, and we understand that both players in the race are on the ground campaigning.
