PM Has No Desire to Meet With B.S.C.F.A.

Dean Barrow

If you were a little unclear about G.O.B.’s rejection of the B.S.C.F.A., the Prime Minister went further. While he met with ASR/B.S.I. on Wednesday, he has no wish to do so with the association even though he had said on Monday that he will reach out to the two sides to find out what true position each is taking to determine whether there is a basis to work out some kind of new agreement between them.

Prime Minister Dean Barrow

“It’s a little difficult to know now who speaks for the B.S.C.F.A.  I’ve certainly been in touch with one of the caciques, as I see him, and in fact that’s where I got the information from that the Corozal division is considering, or at least is preparing to discuss cessation. I haven’t spoken to Mr. Cansino who is still nominally the titular head or Chair of the Committee of Management but I believe the Deputy Prime Minister or Minister Patt would have spoken to him. At the time as I understand it he was consumed with the Fairtrade issue. They did I think deliver a letter to the SICB signed by Mr. Cansino or some other official from the Committee of Management pursuing this line that the SICB should set a start date for crop. In that context I don’t know that I particularly want to try to seek out Mr. Cansino because if that if the line then there is nothing to discuss. My position is clear.”

ENOUGH ALREADY WITH THIS STORY. This sector of the economy contributes 2% of our GDP. And it’s boring. Use your imagination and find something else to fill in the hour. Go visit a Child Care center or an Assisted-Living facility. Or do something on the plight of the girls at Rose Garden (or whatever the new name is). How about a collage of cold cases? There are some interesting cold cases like the murder of Coombs at the Port a few years ago. Stick a mic in the Compol’s face and hold him accountable. Just do something.

This clearly shows who side Belize PM is on, definitely not with the Belizeans cane farmers. Maybe america has threaten to revoke his green card.
