PM Says There’s No Requisite Majority to Nationalize ASR/B.S.I.

Dean Barrow

So to wrap it all up, we picked out the relevant statement which clearly shows the Prime Minister’s frustration with the continuing chaos in the industry. While Barrow has maintained that he can’t run roughshod into a private company, some observers say that just as he did with other private companies like B.T.L., he could nationalize the company and if necessary, change the Constitution to suit G.O.B.’s purpose. He’s obviously heard that too, and put that option to bed in short order.

Prime Minister Dean Barrow

“We’re not in a position to change the constitution in any event. We don’t have the requisite majority in the House. Whether we wanted to or not, we don’t have the requisite majority in the House, so please don’t pursue what in my mind is an idle line of inquiry.”

So what will be the next move by the farmers? That’s something that we will be following up.

ENOUGH ALREADY WITH THIS STORY. This sector of the economy contributes 2% of our GDP. And it’s boring. Use your imagination and find something else to fill in the hour. Go visit a Child Care center or an Assisted-Living facility. Or do something on the plight of the girls at Rose Garden (or whatever the new name is). How about a collage of cold cases? There are some interesting cold cases like the murder of Coombs at the Port a few years ago. Stick a mic in the Compol’s face and hold him accountable. Just do something.

  2. Joseph Salvador says:

The PM doesn’t want to nationalize BSI/ASR because he has a secret deal with them.

Plain and simple, he advocates for BSI/ASR.

  3. famer says:

    Agree with Joseph Salvador.

  4. patriotic says:

I agree with Joseph, the PM defends BSI/ASR with all his authority.
