Human Remains Found at Dewdrop Estates

Marvin Bul

Our records indicate that the murder count now stands at one hundred and forty-three. This morning, the remains of a man were found in an area in Ladyville known as the Dewdrop Estate. According to the police, it is believed that the person was killed sometime in November. News Five’s Duane Moody was there when the mother of the murder victim arrived on the scene. Her worst fears would be confirmed that her son had been murdered and discarded in the bushy area. Here is that story.

Duane Moody

“Just after eight this morning, Ladyville police were called out to the Dewdrop Estate Area at miles eleven and a half on the Phillip Goldson Highway. There the officers discovered the human remains of a male person. Scenes of Crime personnel and Doctor Hugh Sanchez, the pathologist, are currently processing the scene where we understand that within the clothing found on the bones, an ID of twenty-three year old Marvin Bul, a Ladyville resident was discovered.”

Insp. Frederick Gordon, Rural Executive Officer, Police Department

“This morning, just before nine a.m., the Ladyville police received an information that apparent remains had been found near mile twelve about a hundred miles off the Phillip Goldson Highway where the police came out and discovered what appears to be human remains.”

Duane Moody

“Tell us the condition in which it was found.”

Insp. Frederick Gordon

“What we found at the time was lone bones, skeleton.”

Duane Moody

“Anything to identify whether it is a male, female or who the person could be?”

Insp. Frederick Gordon

“It appears that it is a male person, a young male person.”

“Was there any personal belongings found on the scene to allude to who the person may be?”

Insp. Frederick Gordon

“We don’t want to comment on that at the time until we can get confirmation of such.”

The human remains were scattered within a hundred yards radius, but personal effects discovered included a black boxers, blue jersey shorts, a blue jeans pants and a bloodied shirt. Hair was also retrieved from the scene. But hours later, Bul’s mother’s worst fears would be realized when she arrived at the substation and identified that in fact, it was the clothing and remains of her son.

Insp. Frederick Gordon

“The area was contaminated by what we suspect could be animals or vultures and yes we also found some clothing: a blue jeans pants along with a blue short pants a boxers along with a shirt in the area. Also inside the pants we found the ID of a person.”

“Sir have you been able to confirm who this individual is?”

Insp. Frederick Gordon

“Well so far the identification we have found, we have since questioned the mother of the person which we later on was confirmed by her to be that of her son, Marvin Rafael Bul. That’s the identification that was found inside the pants pocket in the area where the bones were found. We have no reports. As we speak the mother is making a statement of her son and the identification of the clothing that we have found and the ID that we have found inside the clothes on the scene.”

“Is there anything to suggest that would lead investigators to believe that violence was involved in Mister Bul’s death?”

Insp. Frederick Gordon

“Well we are looking at all aspects of the investigation at this time. We have retrieved the bones from the area and the doctor will be doing some testing with the bones for further clarification on any other matters concerning the bones.”

While the authorities are awaiting results from the pathologist to determine the cause of death, it is believed that Bul was murdered and his body disposed of in the bushes sometime around the nineteenth of November. According to police, Bul was wanted for a robbery in the Ladyville community.

Insp. Frederick Gordon

“I could confirm that a report was recently made against Mister Bul some six weeks ago in connection with a burglary and yes, this fellow Bul is known to the Ladyville police.”

A motive and who could have committed the murder are still not known. Duane Moody for News Five.
