Unicorn International Case Proceeds

Michael Young

With the order handed down, the Financial Intelligence Unit now has two days to return the documents to Unicorn International Securities. That’s a victory for the company, at least on this front. Attorney Michael Young described how the rest of the case will proceed.

Michael Young, Attorney for Unicorn International Securities

“In so far as the rest of the case is concerned because the relief that is being claimed is more than just the return of the documents and assets because our clients business has been very, very severely prejudiced by the events that have taken place. The court gave direction, pretrial steps to be taken which will lead to the trial itself of the claim.”

“So when are you coming back to court?”

Michael Young

“The next date for us to appear back in court will be the sixth of February, 2015.”

“Are you aware of any of the other, because your client is not the only one, there are several other companies whose names were listed in that freezing order whose offices were searched by the FIU and was taken from them. Are you aware of similar claims being filed on their behalf?”

Michael Young

“We represent only Unicorn, but I have no doubt that their attorneys are going to be taking similar steps and filing claims also for constitution relief in relation to what has also happened to their clients.”

The other companies affected in the raid will likely follow suit by claiming redress. One of those is Titan International Securities, which goes before Justice Courtney Abel on Thursday afternoon at two p.m.
