Trial Date Set in Castro Visa Case

Anthony Sylvester

Minister of State Edmond ‘Clear the Land’ Castro walked away from charges of improper conduct as area representative for Belize Rural North over a year ago.  Those claims were brought against him by a constituent. Today, however, he was back in court to face serious allegations of corrupt transactions over visa recommendations.  The compelling and detailed assertions were made by whistleblower Alvarene Burgess and aired on News Five.  Castro has denied the charges and filed a suit against both parties for defamation of character.  On November seventeenth, attorney Anthony Sylvester requested an extension to file a witness statement on behalf of Burgess.  This evening, Sylvester said that a trial date has been set for May 2015, in accordance with the court’s calendar.  Burgess and Channel Five stand firmly behind their series of interviews in October and November 2013.

Anthony Sylvester, Attorney for Alvarene Burgess

“The case was set for the actual trial of the matter and “a component” where legal submissions will be made as well as there will actually be a trial where the parties, main actors, the claimant Mister Castro.”

“They will be appearing on the witness stand?”

Anthony Sylvester

“They will be appearing on the witness stand. That will take place on the thirteenth and the fourteenth of May.”

Reporter

“May, why so long?”

Anthony Sylvester

“Well the date for these matters are usually set dependent on the court’s calendar. So essentially what we came to do today was just to finalize the dates for the trial of the matter.”

Reporter

“But the point is your client and Channel Five will have their day in court.”

Anthony Sylvester

“Yes, everyone will have their day in court.”

Back in May, Chief Justice Kenneth Benjamin dismissed a case of alleged mishandling of funds brought against Castro by Trevor Vernon.  In statements made prior to the matter going before the courts, Castro insisted that he did not handle any of the Belize Airport Authority cheques in question.  He claims those monies were used for various social assistance programs in his constituency.

He only won’t be in trouble for Belizean visas but also for false recommendations of people who he professed to know and have good standing in the community who applied for US visas; many of which have come to the US and tried to stay. Besides that, for the signing of a bogus divorced marriage certificate which I 100% know about for someone to come to the US and get married in order to get a Green Card. What that person doesn’t know Delhart, Uncle Sam will be requesting an authentic divorce decree as well as a couple of other things that you don’t know about. Yes, the process has changed since you got your own Green Card Delhart. So, enjoy your little hustle now, as well as your travels back and forth to the US because the only thing saving you now is that you’re in government. Uncle Sam is watching closely. While He might not be able to prosecute you for this visa hustle in Belize, He holds you equally responsible in the eyes of the laws of the US since your Green Card came with certain submissions of oaths. Did you forget them? So, in His eyes, you broke the law and it’s a Federal offense. Watch how your Green Card will be revoked . I hope you’ve hustled enough, along with the thug move where you used political clout at a financial institution to get a loan for your sons for “supposedly” pilot school when we all know they aren’t attending nor did they make the grade.
