Elisa Hunter Remains Critical At the K.H.M.H.

Traffic accident victim, Elisia Hunter remains in critical condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. This morning, she underwent surgery. Hunter was flung into the air on Tuesday morning when the vehicle of the Foreign Minister, Wilfred ‘’Sedi” Elrington hit her soon after she alighted a bus near Mile Eight on the George Price Highway. Hunter was attempting to cross the highway when the vehicle knocked her; she ended on the pavement and was transported to the hospital while the minister proceeded to Belmopan for Tuesday’s Cabinet Meeting. Twenty-five year old Amir Garcia was behind the steering wheel of the new 2015 Toyota Prado when Hunter was hit. He has been served with a notice of intended persecution. Elrington’s recollection is that just before the accident, he was reading when he noticed that Garcia was agitated before slamming into Hunter.  The Foreign Ministry says that Elrington visited Hunter on Tuesday and that he has promised to ensure that all appropriate assistance is provided to her. Elrington also says that he regrets the unfortunate traffic incident.

This woman was hit because elringtons driver was talking to him and not paying attention to the rd this will be another case of this gov. Committing murder and getting away with it you watch and see.

  2. human says:

Well to be real gov or not no one should be crossing the street with cars passing. So what if it wasn’t the minister but the first car that missed her what would ppl lame comments be? Now every one will blame the driver and the minister because everyone just wants a reason to attach the gov. When they have real reason to attach gov they don’t and when it is clear even in video then they will start with their lame comments. Belizean sometimes we act back way.. This is the only time I can say it wasn’t the minister or his drivers fault…..

    @ HUMAN
I totally agree with you. This case has nothing to do with politics but a accident that has a 50% that could or could have not happen. We can blame the traffic department for not putting a pedestrian ramp on that area, we can blame the driver which in many cases are not totally responsible, we can blame the victim and so on. But in this case once the persons involved get in contact with each other after the said accident and are willing to alleviate the problem or solve the problem we should wait and see what is the outcome before we blame or point fingers.

The woman has the fault in this case. She was on a high way where there is no thing like pedestrian ramps. She should have ensured that no vehicle was coming before crossing the street. I live in a city where it is worst than Belize city, you even need to have eyes in your butt before crossing the Streets. There is no government fault because it was not necessary for the minister’s vehicle to knock her down but there was a lot of probability that another vehicle could have done it.

Human you seem to not have much sense!

How the heck can anyone cross that road with no “cars passing” except it is about 1:00 AM there are always cars on that road. This is why motorists are suppose to yield the right of way to pedestrians. The burden is always on motorists to allow pedestrians to cross the road.
