Bus Driver Charged for Drunk Driving

William Ayala

Forty-four year old William Ayala was pulled over Friday evening by Traffic Personnel after he was suspected of drunken driving. Today, he was before the court to answer to a single charge of Drove motor vehicle with alcohol concentration above the prescribed amount.  The Benque Viejo driver was arraigned late this evening in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court.  Ayala pleaded not guilty and since there was no objection to bail, he was offered bail in the sum of one thousand dollars.  His next court date is set for November twenty-fourth.   Allegations are that Ayala drove a bus on the George Price Highway while intoxicated.

THere were no mention of hospital urine or blood tests. Are we all doctors on the street now? This accusation is one that is used by the bus owners to dismiss someone that is not useful to them anymore. To avoid paying there dues to the drivers and to government. Many have gone through this same old same old. Ask other drivers and you will know.
