Gun, cell phones stolen during home holdup

A Belize City woman has reported being held up in her home on Tibruce Street. Sylvia Vernon told police two men came to her house around nine-thirty Thursday night pretending to be delivering a package. However, one of them came inside, pulled a handgun, and began searching the house. Vernon says they stole her licensed thirty-eight revolver and three cell phones then drove away in a white Suzuki. The vehicle was quickly intercepted by police and two of the phones recovered. Police apprehended one of the suspects last night and the other this morning. They have been identified as twenty-one year old Brenton Lewis Smith and twenty-eight year old Eustace Andrews. Both were charged with aggravated burglary, while Smith was additionally charged with handling stolen goods.
