Upon arrival out at the scene, Duane what we found was that there was indeed a Guatemalan, thirty-four year old.  Our preliminary investigation is showing that Mister Diaz was indeed along with other company who then sometime around midnight took him home on motorcycle. After they had left him home, we are still investigating and trying to ascertain what went on and led to the death of Mister Diaz at this present moment. We do have two individuals in custody which we believe can assist us with our investigation that is presently going on.”

His wife, Ana Cecilia Diaz, was notified of the murder two hours later, at six a.m.  She walked from their house to the scene to identify him; her worst fear was soon realized. Ana Cecilia says she last spoke with her husband on Saturday evening when he left home to go socialize.

“On Saturday at around three p.m., he told me that he was going out. He left, but he never returned. He never told me with whom he was going and he left alone. We don’t have any vehicle so he went alone. Even though I was told that he was dead, I didn’t believe it. As I walked towards the scene, from a distance I saw that it was his clothes and I started feeling sick. And then as I reached closer, I felt like I couldn’t go more but I had to because I am his wife. When I saw what they did to him, it broke my heart.”

Police currently have two persons detained for questioning, but have not ascertained a motive or have they been able to come up on the murder weapon used to partially severe Pedro’s head.

“I have no idea who could kill someone like this…that is so cold and hurtful. It is inexplicable because when I saw him, only god gave me the strength to go and identify my husband. I only ask God to have mercy on the persons that did this to him.”
