Patrick Faber Accused of Assaulting MoE Staffer…

Minister of Education Patrick Faber is neck deep in a personal and political scandal tonight. The senior government minister has been accused of assaulting a staff member and her friend while at a party at his home in Lord’s Bank on Friday night. The shocking report was made to the Ladyville Police Station at five on Saturday morning. While Police have gone into blackout mode, News Five has obtained a copy of that allegation made to Police. Apparently twenty-five year old Nikiesha Polanco, an employee of the Ministry of Education, was having her birthday party at the home of her boss, Minister Patrick Faber. The report reads, and “Whilst utilizing her cell phone Patrick Faber approached her requesting her cell phone, where she refused, that was when Patrick Faber assaulted her by choking her on the bed.”  The report further states that the young lady shouted for help and her cries got the attention of a friend who came into the bedroom. According to the report, “Patrick grabbed Nickesha from her hair, pulled her off the bed onto the ground and pulled her to the curry (sic) door, whereby he punched her twice to the right side of the face causing her to feel pain, In the process she also sustained abrasions on the right knee and the right hand.” The report was made to Police at five that morning, and Polanco was issued with a medico-legal form for her injuries. In keeping with Police procedure, Patrick Faber was noted in the report as the person wanted. Today Faber hosted a media breakfast to discuss a host of education issues. But of course, the allegation that he assaulted young women in his home was the most important topic of the morning.

“A report was made and I believe subsequent to that that report has been withdrawn for the mere reason that the situation did not occur as it was reported. So it was withdrawn and so there is no issue there any longer. The young lady is my friend. All of you know that in fact my wife and I have undergone a separation that is going on to almost a year now, and we had an unfortunate squabble if you will, but nothing like what has been reported and so the complaint was withdrawn. Of course there are people who would want to fuel this, and I speak particularly of one individual who at the time of the situation with my wife in fact made a lot of charges, wrote up a lot of nonsense in a report and is seeking to do so again. I want for the record to say to people that I try to be an upstanding citizen. I am human and I have a personal life. I am a young man…I am not an old man. I am thirty-six years old. While I understand fully that I am a public figure, I do have private activities in my life. It is true that if a complaint is made then it is the business of the public. That complaint has been withdrawn. As far as I know the Police do not have any issues with me. The young lady that you speak of has no issues with me certainly, and in an effort to try to protect whatever friendship is there too, I will not say anything more than that. But there is no issue left in the ballad so that people have to be concerned.”

  2. Teddy Steinway says:

Mr. Minister this is the year that you cooked your political goose.

    Happy Birthday to You!

  3. Heavenlyblaq says:

Is there a women’s branch of the UDP? Why is there not an outcry especially seeing that this person is a proven and repeat domestic abuser? Ray Rice was kicked out of the Raven team because he abused his fiancee. Now here we have the Education Minister of our country who clearly has anger management issues with women and there is no accountability from law enforcement, his party or the women’s department. This is not a political issue. This is a problem that women face daily and the perpetrators are allowed to walk free. Something has to be done about this minister who is in charge of the education of our nation but quite obviously he needs to be educated himself.

  4. MADDYVANDIJKDEREALISTO says:

First Saldivar and now this idiot.
Let’s just Hire robots and flying drones to replace these weak, prone humans who call themselves political leaders.

  5. Rhianna says:

It would be best for the Prime Minister to call election now. Tek this set out of their misery. They are getting out of hand and he no longer has control. With the little good he’s trying to achieve this set will make the people vote them out with a land slide. They need to investigate Mr. Faber who feels he’s untouchable. He has a drinking problem, anger management issues and he’s abusive. ………… Then when he’s had enough he goes to confess at St. John’s church and takes his innocent children with him in his charade!!! Ludicrous!!!

  6. kitchpanp3m3pm says:

I totally agree with you heavenlyblag. This person should be suspended for his behavior ..woman abuser!!!He surely needs anger management..and over a phone come on…and he is saying he is young yes you are young mr.minister but you have no right to put your hand on a woman!!!where are the 20,000 women against violence? where are they?they should be outrage at this!!!

  7. Pelican says:

Where is Ms Williams, Ms Alpuche, Ms Kim Barrow, Ms Dolores Balderamos, This man should be suspended.

  8. country gyal says:

Not to make a situation even worse but the Officer that took this statement definitely needs to spell check. He spelled Curry Door instead of Corridor. Patrick Faber needs to work on having properly educated Officers on the Job instead of assaulting women.

  9. Joe Blank says:

Ghetto Superstar strikes again. No surprises here. Thug government comes from thug members. Then he has the balls to try to bs himself, not us, through this. We don’t buy soapy mouth crap!

  10. Retired CEO says:

How can we expect the legal justice system to work effectively, with the kind of leadership displayed by these buffoons called ministers of government. How can we expect our young people to respect law and order, when those who are in charge of the government easily break the law and are not held responsible. It goes beyond saying that this minister should do the nation of favor and resign. He is a very poor example as a role model for young people. He is not fit to be called the minister of education Rise up Belizeans rise up and demand that this minister beheld responsible for his ruthless and negative behavior towards women.

  11. rudy says:
