Arthur Saldivar’s Fate as a P.U.P. to be Decided by National Executive

Arthur Saldivar

P.U.P. Belize Rural North standard bearer Arthur Saldivar remains suspended tonight amid an ongoing investigation into a number of serious allegations that are directly affecting his candidacy in the next general elections.  Following a meeting of the party’s national executive last week, Saldivar was placed on a two-week suspension while a probe is being conducted into allegations made against him by former client Melonie Coye, who alleges that Saldivar made off with a little under one million dollars from the family.  That accusation, along with other allegations of impropriety in Saldivar’s professional life as an attorney, has prompted a decision to bar him from the party, much to the chagrin of his constituents.  Today, party leader Francis Fonseca told the media that a meeting will be convened on September seventeenth, following the results of the investigation, to decide Saldivar’s fate.

“As you know, we’ve appointed a committee to carry out an investigation.  That committee will report back to us on September twelfth and we will reconvene a meeting of the national executive on September seventeenth at which the report will be tabled and discussed and at which a decision will be taken based on that report and the recommendations contained therein.  As I pointed out, we understand that the Belize Rural North committee, we understand their concerns, their frustration and they are absolutely entitled to support their candidate and we have no problem with that.  That is perfectly acceptable within our party but the decision taken was a decision taken by the national executive and we stand united in support of that decision and we will allow the process to work its way out and so that is where it is.  There has been no new, no further developments. The committee we have is a committee comprised of the chairman of the party, the legal advisor and two other members of the Order of Distinguished Service and they are looking at the Coye issue and a number of other issues.”

On Friday, supporters of Arthur Saldivar, led by campaign manager Linsford Castillo protested his suspension in front of Independence Hall.

So Francis had time to talk to the media again but dismissed the folks of BRN. Wake up Belize this man will be just like or worse than Dean Barrow.

Get rid of this clown from our PUP if we want to win-I am also sick and tired of hearing is stupidity on TV, and Vibes. Can you ban the radio from taking his calls too-and ban torres and street vibes also-waste of critical time Francis. Come on Vaughn-control your show. Ban this little boy, tell him he looks like a horse, he sounds like an empty trombone and he should take 900000 and go to the dentist to buy some side teeth.

  3. Uncle Benji says:

Arthur, have you stashed away the Coye’s money in a safe place like a Miami bank? Good. I do not condone your actions, but hey, you stole from another thief, so that’s cool in my books.

Barack Fonseca (this man is as lame as Obama) will definitely ban you from the PUP fold. Don’t stick around man. Go see Dean Ali BaBa-rrow and become a UDP.

Look on the bright side of being a UDP. You get to steal more. Gawd, isn’t that exciting?

  4. red says:

How is it that they could investigate themselves? Do you remember the hard time they gave Minister Hulse about his investigation?

  5. Buju says:
