$10,000 reward for information on the missing Hattieville Chairman

Kevin Carcamo

A candlelight vigil for the safe return of Hattieville Chairman, Kevin Carcamo will be held tonight, five days after his mysterious disappearance behind Freetown Sibun.  Carcamo vanished while reportedly returning from work on a survey line within the densely forested area on Sunday and, despite all efforts by authorities to locate him, hasn’t been seen or heard from since.  On Thursday, Discoverseis, the company Carcamo is employed with, conducted another aerial canvass, while a team of divers attached to the coastguard descended to the depths of the Sibun River.  Both attempts have failed to bear fruit and the manpower that was initially deployed into the area has been reduced considerably.  Nonetheless, there is still optimism that Carcamo is alive.

ASP Christopher Noble, Rural Executive Officer

Christopher Noble

“The search itself and its intensity has been overwhelming.  We’ve been trying every angle, every idea, every trail, every information has been looked at, we’ve ran up into it where it ends, we’ve turned back, we’ve been assessing.  We have major agencies that have come onboard with us, the B.D.F., the coastguard, BDART, the rescue team from Belmopan and we cannot see where it is reasonable that this person would not have been found as yet.  Day five into it, are we to think something else?  We’re not sure, however, looking at it it’s something that is quite disturbing for us at this stage.”

Isani Cayetano

“Does this then shift the focus of your search and rescue effort to that of an investigation to find out if he had gone missing within the area or otherwise?”

ASP Christopher Noble

“The focus does not shift when it comes to the intensity of our search, it only intensifies what our investigation is at this stage.  We are being supported by our investigative team from Belmopan now and Belize City, so our focus is not changing.  There is a lot of hope on my side that we will bring home Mr. Carcamo alive.”

“You mentioned earlier that the manpower has somewhat downsized, in terms of the effort to go out into the area to look for Mr. Carcamo.  Can you provide some details or shed some light on that?”

ASP Christopher Noble

“The manpower has downsized a little in that the massive output from the company because the company was providing in excess of eighty persons per day and that was on a fulltime basis.  The company has been taking some loss and they have downsized what that operation is.  Ours is not changing because we still need to follow through on the information being gathered.  As we speak, we have people operational on the ground, in the river and their area is now being expanded to other boundaries.”

While friends and family will gather tonight in prayer for Carcamo’s safe return, Discoverseis is issuing a reward of ten thousand dollars for any information leading to his location.

Sadly, by now he’s fish bait thanks to another glorious job of detective work by a police department that couldn’t close a case unless it jumped up & bit an “OCCIFER” on the ankle!
