Policewoman held up on way to work

Belize City police are investigating a disturbing report that involves a hold-up and an attack on one of their women police constables. The uniformed W.P.C., who has not been identified by authorities, was on her way to work around one this morning on her bicycle when upon nearing a bridge in the Yabra area, a black Jeep Cherokee with heavily tinted windows pulled up. Four men, two armed with a handgun and a knife, jumped out of the vehicle and held her up. According to the W.P.C., the foursome demanded she tell them where they could find one police constable Gillett who last week was involved in a fatal shooting incident while disarming a man with an Uzi. According to the officer, the men took away her bike and shoes and then drove off. Police have since detained one man and are seeking three others for questioning.
